But how do we come to live in this HOLINESS? By an act of our will! By hearing the Word of God and determining to DO what it says. So there’s a great big “IF” following the Scripture from Colossians, which we quoted [previously]: “But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through DEATH to present you H-O-L-Y in His sight, without blemish and FREE FROM ACCUSATION IF you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.” (emphasis mine)

This requires DETERMINATION – to follow an ideal, the ideal of the GOSPEL. And knowing young people, I know their idealistic frame-of-mind. I also know the ease with which they can become discouraged. AND I also know that the “fruit of the Spirit” – PATIENCE – has rarely been developed in them to full maturity. So let me encourage you, exhort you to be patient. Don’t give up on yourself. Rely on the redemptive work of the cross of Jesus. And please understand [that] the power of that redemption is great enough to cover every need every thought, every deed that needs to be redeemed. If you hang in there, the HOLY SPIRIT, will do what the scripture already quoted says He will do, “. . .through the washing of REBIRTH and RENEWAL by the Holy Spirit, whom He (God) poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour.” HALLELUJAH!

Jesus is going to present us HOLY in HIS SIGHT! As a body, as a people, we are HOLY! To be a member of that body, functioning as a son of God, we need all the help we can get. And it comes out of that HOLY body. It may not look holy to you, but to God it is HOLY! And He has established all the help we need within that body. And the younger we are, the more help we need. Therefore, we must get a strong grip on everything the Word of God says about how to live in FAMILY, because that’s what that body is – God’s Family. And He has set us in that family so that we have access to all His gifts and graces. HOLINESS flows into ministry! Glory to God!
