“In Word or Deed”

It’s easy to remember to be thankful for things or events that stand out in our lives; but we are called to also be thankful in the little things that may sometimes annoy or frustrate us! God’s word tells us:

“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”                                                        Colossians 3:17 (NASB)

“Whatever you do” is quite clear, isn’t it? However, do we daily consider being thankful for the sink full of dishes, or the mess in our home, or the car window stuck open in the winter, or even our children when they misbehave?

Today please join us in thanking the Lord for the small things, pleasant or unpleasant, that we may otherwise take for granted.

There is a song that tells us to count our blessings and name them them one by one!

Here’s a link if you would like to listen to this beautiful hymn today.

Let’s pray through our blessings today! Here are a few of ours:

Father God, we give thanks to You today for the daily blessings!

We say Thank You for fresh, crisp winter air!

We say Thank You for the cars we drive,

and Thank You for our children that make a mess!

Would you share a few of your blessings with us in the comment section today?

Let’s see how long our giving thanks list can become today!
