Joy to the world, the Lord has come!
This is joyful and wonderful news! Let’s also consider something uniquely wonderful that the Word of God says about JOY.
Here are a few Scripture verses to consider:
James 1:2 – Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
1Peter 1:6 – In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials
Romans 12:12 – Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
In the Bible, James and Peter tell us we are to consider it joy, even to rejoice, in trials and grief. In our human understanding this does not make sense. In the Kingdom of God it makes perfect sense!
Romans says we are to rejoice in hope and be patient in these trials. It also tells us something that is key to unlocking the joy in trials – that is to be constant in prayer!
As we walk through the valley in our circumstances, there is an opportunity to walk on HOLY ground. God uses what we would consider good or bad to bring His children closer to Him.
Being so covered by and close to God at any time is HOLY ground, it’s comfort, it’s peace that surpasses all human understanding, it’s precious, it is JOY!
Thank You Father God for loving us so much that You would do whatever it takes to bring us close to You! We praise you and count it all JOY!
