This morning we invite you to join us as we meditate on this devotion written by Susan Pons.
“…for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance”. (Psalm 42:5)
Have you ever walked past or noticed someone special and thought to yourself… I think they know the Lord. There was just something about them with which your spirit bore witness. In other words, it was their countenance.
The definition of countenance is this…the look on a person’s face that shows one’s nature or feelings.
I love the fact that David, in the midst of a severe trial recognized the help of God’s countenance (God’s nature and feelings) upon him. In other words, probably no one else could tell he was cast down because the Lord’s presence and countenance was covering him.
Don’t we all desire His countenance shining on us even in midst of trials and tribulations?
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.
1. Who do you know that carries the countenance of God?
2. Do you believe that God can lift His countenance up us personally
regardless of our circumstances?
3. How do we give room to God to lift His countenance upon us?
Please answer these questions above in the comments section and we can study together!
