“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

So, what does this mean specifically? We can safely always use the Bible to translate the Bible for us. We can find clarification for this verse in the Psalms!


Psalm 19:7-9 (NASB)

“The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.”

Let us search diligently to know His perfect laws, His sure testimony, His right precepts, His pure commandments, let us keep our eyes and thoughts clean and keep a reverent fear of Him as the book of Proverbs tells us often is wisdom, and let us understand that His judgements are true whether we like it or not. Let’s think about these things when circumstances and negative events try to take over our priorities!

Psalm 25:4-5 (NASB)

“Make me know Your ways, O Lord;

Teach me Your paths.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me,

For You are the God of my salvation;

For You I wait all the day.”
