What Jesus shows to his innocent newcomers.

Simpleton

Jesus sent the 70 out on a mission and they have returned report that God has done amazing things. That is what Jesus knew would happen.

Jesus prays. Jesus is ecstatic. Jesus is doing a happy dance! I can see Jesus. He is smiling. He is very, very happy.

Jesus thanks His Father and Master. The work is a miracle because used nobodies to accomplish His plans. In fact, that pleases God. God likes to use nobodies. God is ignoring the elites. That is just the way it is.

At that, Jesus rejoiced, exuberant in the Holy Spirit. “I thank you, Father, Master of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the know-it-alls and showed them to these innocent newcomers. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way. ~Jesus | Luke 10:21 (The Message Bible)

I need to get this in my soul. Jesus has a mission for me. I am nobody important and if anything happens it will be a “God thing”. I am to be thankful. God is showing me things that others prayed to see but didn’t. Jesus is showing me.

As a disciple, the question is, will I learn? Will I have ears to hear and eyes to see?

May it be so by God’s great grace, a gift to me.

Leadership the Jesus: A Faith at work series — Looking how to focus your faith at work? | This series of leadership programs focuses on leadership skills that drive the purpose and passion for work as laid out by Jesus and based on sound scripture. We might see faith and work as estranged. It can be frustrating. But, in truth, faith and work should share a crucial aim: to see the unseen at work through the power of the Holy Spirit. Nothing new has been made without faith in God. Nothing unseen has been seen without work. When the force of what we do hits why we do it, we wither, or we flourish. Learn more here.
