Do the poor have an advocate?
God cares for the poor, the widow, the orphan, the homeless, the sick, those in jail; all of the displaced of this world. I need to advocate for them as well. Jesus calls me to love and to give.
Jesus is an advocate for them all.
Jesus is not just an Advocate but he is mighty and powerful.
Don’t stealthily move back the boundary lines or cheat orphans out of their property, for they have a powerful Advocate who will go to bat for them. | Proverbs 23:10-11 (The Message Bible)
Special praise goes to Jesus for vindicating the penitent and the needy who have no human champions. Ultimately, all God’s ways will be seen as just and equitable.
God is God. God will judge and render a verdict. I have an advocate that is interceding on my behalf when I stand before God. Jesus has already paid the price. It’s all good.
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus the Messiah the righteous. | 1 John 2:1
Justice — It is Declared in Jesus the Messiah: A major aspect of justice is impartiality. A God who did not care about the difference between right and wrong and did not judge me for acting one way or the other would not be an admirable being worthy of my love or trust. The fact that God is just and will judge between right and wrong gives ultimate moral significance to my life and makes me accountable for my actions.
