Are you anxious? God is good and in a good mood.

Are you anxious? God is good and in a good mood.

Here is a powerful post Thanksgiving message.

Psalm 100 Be Thankful A psalm of thanksgiving.

1 Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we are his— his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations.

What is anxiety? Are there alternatives?

There are a lot of details to life. What to eat. What to wear. Which way to drive to work. Should I change jobs? Should I take the next promotion? Will I get off work in time for the kids soccer game? How can I cut my expenses and save more?

The list of things that concern me goes on and on. The Greek word here is μεριμνάω (merimnaó). It means that I am over-anxious, I am anxious, I am distracted or I care for something.

8 Lies Satan Tries to Tell You

Satan is a liar! Here is some insight from Dr. David Jeremiah. He is one of America’s most trusted Bible teachers. For more than 36 years he has helped millions deepen their understanding of the Bible through 8,761 daily Turning Point Radio releases and a weekly Turning Point Television program that reaches millions of people weekly.

Fatigue. Anxiety. Stress. Temptation. Fear. Despair. Lies. Revenge. Sound familiar? These eight lies are the devil’s favorite schemes for distorting our view of reality. He wants us to believe that it’s okay to stay in a place of suffering forever, okay to believe there isn’t anything that can be done, okay to live in defeat. Perhaps no other temptation is as easy to embrace as a simple lie, yet accepting even one of the enemy’s most innocuous deceits initiates a slippery slope downward from the reality of God’s Truth to the pit of despair. (The truth is, Christ has made us Overcomers! Discover how to overcome Satan’s lies with the spiritual armor God gives us in Ephesians 6).

The Father of Lies – The enemy wants you to believe his lies. But keep in mind who the enemy truly is. In just three simple verses, Scripture gives us an accurate picture of his character, of his tactics, and of his goal. His history tells us he is a murderer and has only one desire. In John 8:44 Jesus tells his followers, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning.”

His strategy tells us how he intends to deceive us. Jesus paints a picture of this plan as he continues in John 8:44: “[The devil] does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

God is strong and never grows tired. God is better than the Energizer Bunny.

Good NewsThere is always good news with God. He is always happy to have us back when we miss His goal (aka sin) for us.

God is strong and never grows tired. God is better than the Energizer Bunny. God is energy so God is always energetic. That is just how He rolls.

God’s love brings us peace and calms us. God’s love drives out all fear in our life. Jesus teaches us to be worry free. Why worry? No need. God’s got our back. It is all a part of His plan, even the suffering and pain.

He is tickled pink to delight us. He is in a good mood and not upset with us. Like a loving Father, God disciplines us so we can’t just skate by doing everything we want. Our goal, God’s goal for us, is holiness and sanctification.

Yes, there is always good news with God.

Jerusalem will be told:  Don’t be afraid. Dear Zion, don’t despair. Your God is present among you, a strong warrior there to save you. Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs.” | Zephaniah 3:16-17

May I be open to the good news and see that God is with me, powerful and delighted with me.
