Are you anxious? God is good and in a good mood.

Are you anxious? God is good and in a good mood.

Here is a powerful post Thanksgiving message.

Psalm 100 Be Thankful A psalm of thanksgiving.

1 Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we are his— his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever; his faithfulness, through all generations.

What does it mean that God is good?

God is good — We see it in his work of creation

We have good news. God is God and perfect. God is good and in a good mood. Everything He made is good. Nothing is to be rejected by us. God didn’t make any mistakes.

In fact, God, at creation, declared it all was very good!

Most excellent! Stunning! Amazing!

Am I sure? Do I know it for a fact?

Am I sure? Do I know it for a fact?

God’s enabling Spirit is in us and lets us know that God is good and He loves us. Every detail is being worked into something good. We know it. It is a fact.

That is just the way it is.

God is in a good mood.

No detail is too small for God. He is committed to working out every little thing for our good.

God doesn’t miss a thing. We may not understand it but we do need to believe He is in a good mood and isn’t out to punish us.

That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Romans 8:28

May I be sure of God’s love and the details He is working out for me.

Romans 8:28 All things work for the good

Who is God? Is God good?

Ultimately, God’s goodness is seen in His plan to redeem us from missing His goal (aka sin).

The gospel is “good news.” In His goodness, God sent His Son to become the perfect and blameless sacrifice so we could be forgiven of our sins.

God does not want “anyone to perish but everyone to come to radically change our thinking (aka repentance)” (2 Peter 3:9), and it is “the goodness of God that leads you to repentance” (Romans 2:4).

What does the Gospel mean? Is it good news?

I love it that God sent His Son Jesus to bring us good news. God is in a good mood and so it stands that His Son is all about good news.

I love it! It gives me great joy. Let’s shout it out!

We get confused though because we hear about the Gospel all the time. We say it ourselves over and over. I think we need to stop using that word. Seriously.

Does God care?

Love of Jesus

It is interesting how some people just don’t “get it”, i.e., understand what we are up to in God.

We know we are His children.

We know He loves us and how amazing that is.

We know God is not angry or upset. We know He has our best interest at heart.

We know God cares beyond anything we can imagine.

We know God is in a good mood, all the time.

We really are the children of God. Really.

No doubt about it.

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to.

1 John 3:1

May I know who I am in Him.

Do we get the simple message about love?

Love One AnotherJohn simply got it. The message from God our Father and our Messiah Jesus is that we should love one another. That is it.

There is nothing else. That is God’s goal for us. Love God and love each other. It is our entire focus. It is the message we proclaim.

In fact, the way we know that we have been transferred to The Way of life is that we love one another. If we don’t love one another, then we are as good as dead.

Jesus was clear on this. John got it. We must “get it” as well. This is the good news message. God is love. God is good and in a good mood.

We must love. That is it.

May we walk in His love and love everyone we meet today.

For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another, unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.

1 John 3:11-12

Our programs are like an immersion into a new language – the language of living in Jesus.  The goal is fluency in the language of relationships.  Programs share a sequential vision, building an understanding of relationships and family culture.  The foundation is an encounter with Jesus.  This encounter is the means for both insight and vision.  Encountering Jesus leads a radical change in living and relationships.

We see how good God is in His Work of Creation!

Image result for god is goodAll God’s perfect qualities are made freely available to all for the benefit of the whole world. God is good. Jesus alerts us that God alone is good. God is good, kind, thoughtful, compassionate and loving. God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to die for us. God is good y’all.

Because God is good, God is in a good mood. It is a myth that the old testament (aka covenant) is all about an angry God. As James alerts us “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” God never varies from being good. At all. Ever!

How can good come from evil?

Frank Turek talks about the morally sufficient reasons that God has to allow some evils.

If God is good, why doesn’t he stop evil? One answer is that he’d have to stop me and you because we do evil every day.In order to allow the possibility for love, God grants us free will, which gives us the capacity to do evil as well. But can God really bring good from the evils we commit? Here is a short answer to that really long question:

How does God demonstrate His goodness in His actions?

Image result for god acts goodGod not only is good but more importantly, God does good. God acts on His goodness and demonstrates it to me every day. I may not see it because that is because I am not looking. Jesus has a goal for me. The goal is to see how good God is to me.

Jesus came to bring good news through what He does. That was His mission from His Father. I’ve seen Jesus. He was smiling a lot. I have not always seen Him that way. I think I’ve always confused His directness, particularly with the religious leaders of His day, with grimness and anger.

Jesus demonstrated how good God is by tirelessly healing the sick. Consider this. Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.” (Matthew 4:22-24) Jesus showed God’s goodness every time He could.

God is Good – Would that explain why God is in a good mood and does good? God is good y’all!

God is strong and never grows tired. God is better than the Energizer Bunny.

Good NewsThere is always good news with God. He is always happy to have us back when we miss His goal (aka sin) for us.

God is strong and never grows tired. God is better than the Energizer Bunny. God is energy so God is always energetic. That is just how He rolls.

God’s love brings us peace and calms us. God’s love drives out all fear in our life. Jesus teaches us to be worry free. Why worry? No need. God’s got our back. It is all a part of His plan, even the suffering and pain.

He is tickled pink to delight us. He is in a good mood and not upset with us. Like a loving Father, God disciplines us so we can’t just skate by doing everything we want. Our goal, God’s goal for us, is holiness and sanctification.

Yes, there is always good news with God.

Jerusalem will be told:  Don’t be afraid. Dear Zion, don’t despair. Your God is present among you, a strong warrior there to save you. Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs.” | Zephaniah 3:16-17

May I be open to the good news and see that God is with me, powerful and delighted with me.

I don’t wear a cape.

I don’t wear a cape. I don’t have a bat cave. I don’t even fly an invisible jet. I’m just me. The only super I’m ever associated with is super-smelly or, on good days, super-average. It turns out that I can’t fly, I’m not made out of rubber, and I can’t communicate with fish. I thought about getting a big red “S” tattooed on my chest, but the thought of having to nip and tuck that thing to keep it from morphing into some type of geriatric calligraphy isn’t exciting. While I’m rarely accused of being normal, my version of abnormal will not cause a movie about my super-powers to come out this summer. On top of all that, nobody likes the idea of seeing me in spandex.
