Are our souls for sale?

Jesus is building his Father’s Kingdom and lays out for us the core requirements. Jesus is the leader. I have to sacrifice what I want and let Him lead. That is it. The is the core.

“Calling the crowd to join his disciples, Jesus said, “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for?” ~Jesus  | Mark 8:34-37 (The Message)

What could you ever trade your soul for? The answer is I could trade it for a lot of different things. There are lots of “gods” to choose from. There is materialism, secularism, politics, myself, and on and on the goes the list. I have a choice.

What are we working for?

Calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you [or soul]? What could you ever trade your soul for?”

Jesus ties everything together for us. We are not left guessing what is required of us in the Kingdom of God where Jesus is in charge.

How do you train a leader for Jesus?

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.”
– Ronald Reagan

One of the biggest callings we feel the Lord has given us at the Christian Training Center is to train this generation to be leaders (Heroes of Today).

What does it take to be a leader for Jesus in today’s world? We emphasize the biblical truths of relationships, family, servanthood, and personal discipline. Young men and women are challenged to live a faith that reaches beyond the four walls of the church and affects everyday life.

This fall (September 2-November 9, 2019) we are inviting college age students (18-26 yrs) to experience our Heroes of Today Fall Semester Program. Participants spend their days in study sessions, work duties, or on the unpredictable outdoor adventure. The evenings have a natural rhythm of group Bible studies, prayer & intercession, and recreational activities
