Our programs are like an immersion into a new language – the language of living in Jesus.  The goal is fluency in the language of relationships.  Programs share a sequential vision, building an understanding of relationships and family culture.  The foundation is an encounter with Jesus.  This encounter is the means for both insight and vision.  Encountering Jesus leads a radical change in living and relationships.

How Did Lucifer Fall and Become Satan?

Ron Rhodes, president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries, is heard regularly on nationwide radio and is the author of  Christianity According to the Bible and The 10 Things You Need to Know About Islam. He holds Th.M. and Th.D. degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary. Visit his website at

Lucifer became so impressed with his own beauty, intelligence, power, and position that he began to desire for himself the honor and glory that belonged to God alone. This pride represents the actual beginning of sin in the universe—preceding the fall of the human Adam by an indeterminate time.

How Did Lucifer Fall and Become Satan?

The story of Lucifer’s fall is described in two key Old Testament chapters—Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14. Let’s briefly look at both of these.

It would seem from the context of Ezekiel 28 that the first ten verses of this chapter are dealing with a human leader. Then, starting in verse 11 and on through verse 19, Lucifer is the focus of discussion.

The Devil Joined the Church | Jay Fesperman (3/3)

For the Body to BECOME MATURE, the individual members must BECOME MATURE. All of us have been given gifts to administer to the Body of Christ. It’s as we mature that these gifts – which are the GRACES OF GOD – bring forth in maturing, multiplying power the fulfillment of God’s purposes and plans for the Body of His Son in the earth in this time. So the Lord has structured the Church – the assembly of God’s people – in such a way that the ongoing maturity will be constant. In the human body – to which Paul likens the Church – the ending of any function of any part will bring sickness to the total body.

Jesus said, “He who is not with us is against us”. And in line with that, Paul said, “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid. which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the “DAY will bring it to light”.

Now if we know anything about the “philosophy of the world”, we know it is based on HUMAN TRADITION. It is a religion called “secular humanism”, and the society of our nation, especially in the fields of education, science, and government have adopted this humanistic philosophy. It is so strong and subtle a force of influence through these agencies that most of us are not aware that we are still carrying its precepts into our lives as we seek to live out our Christian faith.

In the same way, his accusations, his deceptions, and his confusions are all lies! But who’s to expose him? ONLY THE TRUTH! And that’s JESUS! The Bible makes it very clear: “The reason the SON OF GOD appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8). And Jesus told the people, “I am the LIGHT OF THE WORLD”. Paul says. . . , “He [the Father] has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the SON whom He loves”.

The Devil Joined the Church

Yes, now the Devil is working from the inside out! The Devil HAS joined the Church, but his participation is so subtle that very few of us recognize him for who he really is. Hs disguise is so perfect that he usually looks like and “Angel of Light”. Often he’s hard to tell from one of us.

Frankly, I don’t want to write about Satan, but I am constrained by the Lord to do so. I was reading in a magazine just this morning about the subtlety of Satan in this present-day world. The writer spoke of “the disappearance of the Devil”. Quoting Baudelaire, he says, “the devil’s cleverest wile is to convince us that he does not exist”. Actually, Satan is quite happy for us believers to picture him as some far-fetched boogeyman, dressed up in a skin-tight red suit, with horns and a tail with as evil leer on his face. he does not want us to know the truth – that he “masquerades as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).
